Turn the Decision Into an Operating Result.

We architect the future process, lead implementation across your internal teams and vendors, and embed the new way of working into day-to-day operations.

How do we turn the decision into an operating result?

When an Execution Mandate Is the Right Engagement

  • You know which workflow or opportunity matters and need someone senior to own it end-to-end.
  • An initiative is stalled among leadership, operations, IT, and vendors, and nobody has the mandate to move it forward.
  • Something has been technically delivered, but the operation has not actually changed.
  • Your teams or vendors can build, but the scope, sequencing, decisions, and adoption have no owner.
  • You have completed a Decision Sprint and want the same owner to carry the plan through.

Architect, Launch, Embed

The Execution Mandate covers the last three stages of the SCALE Framework. The initiative is treated as a change to how the business operates, with technology as one part of it.

Architect

We design the future process before anything is built: steps, roles, decision points, handoffs, exceptions, controls and data ownership. We then define the solution approach: what should be redesigned, automated, integrated, bought, configured or built, and translate that into requirements your teams and vendors can deliver against. Where a platform or vendor must be chosen, we lead the evaluation without being tied to a preferred tool.

Launch

We own delivery: scope, sequencing, dependencies, risks, vendor and internal team coordination, testing, and rollout. We take the major implementation decisions to leadership with a recommendation, and keep every decision connected to the business case.

Embed

We manage the organizational side of the change: who does what in the new process, communication, training, feedback loops, the transition from project mode to normal operation, and the KPIs, owners, and review cadence that show whether the expected result is being achieved.

We Own the Implementation. We Are Not the Implementation Agency.

This distinction matters, so here it is plainly.

We can work with your existing internal teams and vendors. If you do not have suitable specialists, we help identify and source them and support the selection. That is a supporting capability, not the proposition: Work Upgraded is not a development agency, automation agency, or staffing firm.

Who Decides What

Work Upgraded owns the mandate. Your leadership retains final business authority. Internal teams and vendors execute specialist work.

Deployed Is Not Done

An initiative is not successful because software has gone live. It is successful when the new process is how the work is actually done, and the operating result leadership expected is visible in the numbers. We stay through rollout and adoption for exactly that reason, and we define upfront how the result will be measured.

What You Leave With

  • A future-state process design with roles, controls, exceptions, and data ownership defined.
  • Requirements and a solution approach your teams and vendors can deliver against.
  • Vendor or platform selection support where needed.
  • Delivery plan, risk register and decision log maintained through implementation.
  • Tested, rolled-out workflow with trained teams and clear operational ownership.
  • KPIs, governance and an executive report showing whether the expected benefit is materializing.

How the Mandate Runs

An Execution Mandate is scoped to a defined initiative with a defined operating result. The founder leads it directly, embedded with your leadership team and process owners, and coordinates your internal and external delivery resources. The engagement typically runs at a cadence of one to two days per week, set to the initiative's pace.

We usually start with focused initiatives rather than one large program. An initial initiative may involve roughly 20–100 hours of specialist implementation work and target a 3–6-month payback. Those are working qualification benchmarks, not quotes or guarantees. Scope, cadence and commercial terms, including any continuation from a Decision Sprint, are agreed in the proposal.

What the Execution Mandate Is Not

  • Not a development or automation agency engagement. We do not sell build hours.
  • Not a project manager for a pre-decided tool rollout. We own the business outcome, including the right to challenge the solution.
  • Not a hand-off at go-live. Adoption and measurement are in scope.

After the Mandate

At the end, you have an adopted process, measured results, and the internal ownership to keep it running. Where the same operating area contains further opportunities, the next Mandate can follow. Where automation has become an ongoing agenda across the business, Fractional Automation Leadership provides continued senior ownership across the portfolio.

FAQ

Do we need to do a Decision Sprint first?

No. If the case and scope are already clear, we start with the Mandate. If they are not, a Sprint is usually the faster route to a successful Mandate.

We already have a vendor. Can you work with them?

Yes. We define scope and requirements, coordinate with your internal teams, and keep delivery tied to the business outcome.

We have no technical team. What then?

We help identify and source suitable implementation specialists and support the selection. Work Upgraded remains the senior owner; the specialists execute.

Who takes the decisions?

You do. We bring the analysis and a recommendation; your leadership retains final business authority.

How do you handle AI?

As one option among several. The solution may be workflow automation, integration, existing software, custom software, process redesign, AI, or a combination, chosen on the economics and the process, not the label.
